I find interesting the remark about Horowitz. In the BBC Music Magazine, Sept 2013 issue, the cover story is about Horowitz, and Sviatoslav Richter is quoted as saying of this interpreter, "Great pianist, trivial mind".

I would paraphrase Richter, and say of Gould, "Great pianist, great mind".
