The
parts of this concert I stumbled on were just wonderful, every bit as much an
anniversary party as a classical concert. Part 2 airs next week -- and A&E
usually bounces other airtimes of particularly good shows around, so there's a
good chance anyone who wants to keep searching will find it. Here's the website
blurb:
Daniel Barenboim: 50 Years on Stage , Pt. 1 Sunday, June 29 @ 8am ET/PT On August 19,
2000, Daniel Barenboim celebrated 50 years on stage by giving a piano recital
from the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, where the 7-year-old Barenboim made his
first public concert appearance. Like 5 decades earlier, Barenboim's solo
recital reflected his astonishing interest in different musical cultures.
