I distinctly remember that when he did his PBS show on the Golden Age of
the Piano, David Dubal called Gould's playing the playing of a Romantic.
Furthermore, although Gould shunned Romantic period works in his playing,
he said that as a composer, he was sort of stuck in the Romantic period.
