GG: Guertin's Schoenberg Book

What follows is my quick translation of an e-mail I received from
Thérèse Salviat regarding Ghislaine Guertin's book about Gould's
Schoenberg broadcasts.  The French follows.  Please be kind to my
mistakes!

Note to all Francophones: Ghislaine Guertin has published in French
_La série Schoenberg_, a translation of 10 Gould programs broadcast by
the CBC in 1974; hypothesis of presentation: Gould traces in this
series, his selfportrait. Debatable but stimulating...

The critical apparatus is important, remarkably documented, but the
prinicipal merit of the book is the offering, for the first time, the
text of these programs.  It's only too bad that the original English
isn't equally present.

However that may be, thanks Ghislaine !

These 10 programs were broadcast from the 11th of September to the 13th
of November 1974, just before the great portrait, _Schoenberg,  The
first hundred years-  a documentary Fantasy_ itself broadcast the 19th
of November.

Note that his book will not appear in Canada until next September but

Avis à tous les francophones  :  Ghislaine Guertin vient de publier en
français <La série Schoenberg>,  traduction des dix émissions de Gould
diffusées par la CBC en 1974 ; l'hypothèse de présentation : Gould a
tracé,  dans cette Série,  son autoportrait.  Discutable,  mais assez
stimulant ...
L'apparat critique est important,  remarquablement documenté,  mais le
pricipal mérite du livre est évidemment d'offrir pour la première fois
le texte de ces émissions.  Dommage seulement que l' anglais original ne
soit pas également présent.
Quoi qu'il en soit,  merci,  Ghislaine !
