I think I maybe should have added "for Gould". The tempi is the 1st movement of
the 1st concerto is swift but not eccentric. It adds a refreshing directness to
his interpretation and allows him to show just how extraordinary is technique
was, The cadenzas are interesting hindemithish mixes of counterpoint - I like
them very much in the way they sum up the movements so neatly without resorting
to thundering octaves of the Horowitzian school.
