Hello All,

I first sent this mail to Elisha, but then thought that this might be an
interseting discussion item - What do we like that GG did not.

Hello Elisha,

Yes, even though I really like GG's performances - there are some
favourates that should actually ban me from this list. Chopin's
repertoire really moves me - especially if my daughter plays it. It is
great if you can turn the radio off to listen to live piano music!!

But one other piece has recently acquired Nr1. status with me. Strange
enough, I heard this opus for the first time on a piano competition on
the German Classic Radio wire. This was a "blind" performance where
performer "A" competed against performer "B" and listeners were asked to
call in their preferences.

At the end the winner was "Auf dem Wasser zu singen" - a Liszt adaption
of a Schubert song. I thought it was beutifull!! And the most amazing
part: The winner was a 13-year old girl.

Now - what can I do? Schubert and Liszt on this forum? My current copy
is by Jorge Bolet and I love it.
