Note that GG referred to "The _Idea_ of North"; not the North. From the work
of GG & others, it appears that Canadians have a similar mixture of awe &
loathing about the mythology of their north that we Australians have of the
"dead heart".

The idea of Bach may be related to the idea of North; but Bach himself is
something else entirely,
