Ease and clarity were his middle names.  It is drained of any emotion
whatsoever.  I found it ghoulish rather than Gouldian.  That he
disdained Chopin is in every lifeless note.  Compare his performance to
Hamelin on You Tube and then tell me which has blood in its veins?  GG
played the piece exactly as HAL 2000 would.

I re-visited the gould- chopin 3 rd.     it's just astonishing !  the
ease and clarity. it's just absolutely amazing.          granted he's
still in the 3 cornered world syndrome and avoids a    " juilliard -
rubinstein "  emotionality. but , what he does !   he seems to be
floating 10 miles above any difficulty, dropping in now and then if
something interests him. -     worth a listen !
