Re: [F_minor] Upcoming Gould Events

Those are good suggestions, though I'm not sure I'd want an academic atmosphere of erudite lecturing to develop.

One thing I think is doable and potentially very attractive, though of course it'd be extremely difficult to produce solely for a F-Minor gathering:

Have someone ACT Gould - do a one-man monologue, as it's been done many times in theatres with Twain, Roosevelt, Didion (upcoming). I can see this succeeding off-Bway in NY and certainly in Toronto.......

Stranger things have happened, and GG's persona simply cries out for something like this.

Like Mr. Weiner, I may have missed the notice of the

As for ideas, discussions by Kevin Bazzana and Tim
Page might be in order, as well as discussions of
Gould's thinking on stereophonic and communications
technology in the current context. Mixes, mash-ups and
other interactive media have caught up with his
reflections, which were surprisingly prescient at a
time when most listeners were restricted to twiddling
a few hi-fi knobs.

Another thought might be discussions of contemporary
musicians and other auteurs in the spirit of Gould.
David Byrne, Bjork and Tom Waits come to mind, and I'm
sure list subscribers have many other ideas.

Thanks for reading.
