The only one's i'm familiar w/ i'll comment on
briefly:

> The Friederich Biography: this is the only one i've
read in it's entirety. it seems ok, has lots of good
B& W pictures.
>
> The Ostwald Biography: i'm just now reading this one
in border's...and i'ts so interesting i've just
ordered it from abe.com (good site for ordered used
books)...i'm really enjoying this book. lots of
insights and info i'd never heard of or considered.
some b& w pictures.

those are the only GG books i've ever cracked. i'm a
great fan of his style of playing bach...his
contrapuntal thinking in genreal...i really like how
he plays mozart, at least the little i've heard (i
know he hated most of mozart's stuff)...any way i've
become more interested in the life of gg as i've
become more involved w/collecting his cd's and playing
the bach works (some of them) that he played (trying
to play that is).

hope this is of some help

regards,
