Hello all. In the liner notes to the Sony GG Edition release of the Toccatas (yes! one 37 minute CD, and another 43 minute CD! Way to go Sony!), Michael Stegemann writes "...he wrote in in 1972 in his essay "Art of the Fugue", which served as a foreword to an edition of the score of he Well-Tempered Clavier ..."

Does anyone have more information on what this references? Did someone publish a copy of the score of the WTC with an introduction by GG? If so, I would love to own this manuscript! Any details would be warmly received.
