Re: GG on CBC

Hello. This is a "Telefilm" production, Telefilm being the sort of
Canadian quasi-government funded,
maybe-responsible-to-public's-wants-and-desires-maybe-not type agency
(with which we abound in Canada). It's a commercially available VHS (no
DVD so far). At least, it's in print, I haven't actually seen it
anywhere for sale. It sounds very interesting.

You will probably get deluged with responses, but if you don't receive
any better offers, as an official friendly Ottawa Native(*), I would be
pleased to record it for you. Glenn Gould as a producer, however, I am
not. So if you get a higher fidelity offer, I won't be insulted.

(*) Definition of an Ottawa Native: I drive by the National Archives
(NLC) every day on my way to work :-).

Regards,
Matthew

"FYI: Are you aware of the new Gould video: Glenn Gould, The Russian
Journey. CBC TV will broadcast it on Sept 24 in advance of this Gould
radio day on Sep 25. There are wonderful comments here from people who
attended the 1957 concerts, or who grew up in the aftermath of the Gould
phenomenon in Soviet Russia. Vladimir Ashkenazy and Mstislav
Rostropovich also comment. Don't know if there's a plan to release this
commercially..." -HM

P.S. Don't suppose there's a friendly Canadian who would tape it for
your beloved listowner? :-)
