Glenn Gould Introduces

Dear All,

It's great to read Gould's writings about his own performances, and then
hear the music. There are lots of examples in the Reader and I've spent many
a happy hour recently going through the book with a stack of GG CDs at my
side.

I was wondering if this would be possible on radio, with Gould 'introducing'
the pieces first. So, say he'd recorded his story about the Beethoven fourth
concerto ("who does this kid think he is..." etc), one could play GG telling
the 'story', and then play the piece.

Does anyone remember any similar bits of Gould actually talking about his
playing (or about music in general) that have had a particular poignancy or
impact when the recording itself is played straight afterwards?

Best wishes,

Martin
