GG: Humming

Greetings,

Despite my many hours listening to Gould play, I've never really taken
humming to my piano playing - that is until yesterday. While I was
re-recording some pieces from a recent recital yesterday I found I
couldn't get close enough to the pieces to make it through them with an
adequate quality. Something was missing..so I tried a few different
mental shifts but nothing really worked. Once I started humming freely
to the music I connected...in listening to the recordings, it was rather
clear which pieces I was humming and which I weren't - the quality was
very different.

I've been playing for about a year, and GG has made a tremendous impact
on my playing and perspective. I believe it was his playing (and my
teacher's faith) that inspired me to work hard enough that I was able to
play the following works at the aforementioned recital:

Bach:
	Musette in D
	minuette in D-
Suite (G major/minor/major minuettes) (anna magdalena notebook)

L.Mozart - minutte in D
W.Mozart - Mvt #2 Sonata k 279.
Chopin - Prelude in e minor
Satie - Gnossienne #3
Kabalevsky - Clowns

I'm not bragging, just pointing out how GG has changed my life.
