I haven't seen the answer to that one anywhere. Did Glenn Gould eat
ice cream? On the one hand, ice cream is very cold, and he might not
have liked that. He was already worried about drafts (or is that
draughts?), so ice cream might have been too much for him to take. On
the other hand, a nice dish of vanilla might have reminded him of The
Idea of North. Soft, white, and quiet.

If he did, it sounds like the sort of thing he might have indulged in
secretly. (I've never read an article where a former housekeeper
talked about seeing empty butter pecan containers in his apartment,
though I've read an article or two where a housekeeper talked about
all those empty Arrowroot cookie boxes.) Ice cream does go great with
Arrowroot cookies.
