Yes, just as numbers are!, not our numerals though.

Music can only be appreciated by species with hearing, but 'numbers' are
probably unavoidable by species with 'intelligence'.   Music is whole
number information shared through the median of sound, but not all whole
number information is music.  (The first movement of the Appassionata
played by GG leaps (and grates) to mind!)  ;-)
