GG eccentric

Of course GG was eccentric. He stood outside the normalized and normalizing
centre. His art distinguished itself from the norm. It was "out there". The
"incentrics" of the world had to exit the centre to meet it. Had GG been an
"incentric", he would have been just another pianist...

Geoffrey Payzant, in his magisterial work (p.76), reminds us of the link
between eccentricity and ecstasy, the latter of which "ec"s he describes as
meaningful to GG.

Live better eccentrically. Vive l'eccentricité.
