GG: Cyberspace and Thoreau

I recommend an article from the current issue of Netfuture about cyberspace
and commercial culture called  "Feeling Stupid" by Paul Griffin.  The
author compares Thoreau's observations about technology to Pynchon's 
_The Crying of Lot 49_ and in the end addresses many issues that GG
presents in _The Idea of North_, especially about landscape and
meaning.  I know this sounds vague but it's an interesting article in
light of the Trilogy.
